Project Type: Healthcare
CaroMont Regional Medical Center
RSI has been involved in the management of this asset since 1996. RSI has provided roof design and construction monitoring services for this main facility and various CaroMont Medical owned assets. Recently, RSI was asked to develop design specifications to address original construction precast concrete walls with aging acrylic coating experiencing infiltration due to static cracking at concrete panels and areas of deteriorated coating. To further complicate, the challenge was the existence of silicone control joints that were collecting dirt and the owner desired a consistent aesthetic to be achieved during the renovation project.
RSI developed a comprehensive specification to complete the restoration of the wall systems utilizing a hi‐build elastomeric coating manufactured by Tremco. The silicone joints were bridged utilizing an application of Prosoco R‐guard to provide a suitable substrate for the elastomeric coating.

Bon Secours – Venice Hospital
A roof management assessment was successfully completed in February 2004. The worst roofs were immediately scheduled for replacement. The trick was that two thirds of this multi-million-dollar project was occupied and had to be completed prior to hurricane season arriving in May. RSI developed specifications, conducted the bid process, and met this demanding time restriction. Additionally, all designs were reviewed by the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA). Our knowledge of roof systems and contractors was crucial in getting this project done on time and on budget.
Project Location: Venice, Florida
Project Time Frame: 2004 - Present
Scope of Work: Design & monitor application of new roof; Facility roof management
Roofing Contractor: Simon Roofing
Roof System: Modified bitumen & thermoplastic single ply
Unique Benefit: Met demanding design & time frame on a budget
For over eight years of facility roof asset management, Atrium health and Lincoln Harris have depended on RSI for comprehensive and unique results to effectively manage their roofing needs. RSI’s experience in the challenging healthcare environment and development of customized approaches allowed a costly reroof to be avoided by restoring the existing membrane. The existing membrane was restored with a fully reinforced moisture triggered polyurethane roof system. The system was installed without disruption to the 24 hour emergency department and busy operations below.
